But what is a “Saison” beer?
“Saison” means “season” in English, and at the beginning of the 20th century, this description referred to when a beer was consumed: it would be brewed in the winter, then spent several months refermenting in wooden barrels, and was served in the summer to quench the thirst of seasonal farm workers!
More than 100 years later, the recipe for Saison Dupont remains intact and is brewed in exactly the same spirit…
Now our number one export, the Saison Dupont is brewed all year round and is a benchmark for Belgium’s brewing traditions.
In order to develop the Saison range, we rely on all the great markers of the Saison Dupont, and our speciality: a second fermentation in the bottle. The 75cl Saison Dupont is fermented for a second time horizontally for 6 weeks… a process that is unique in this area.
